Safari For El Capitan 10.11 6

Nov 29, 2016  2011 Macbook Pro using El Capitan 10.11.3 and Safari Version 9.0.3 (11601.4.4) The browser is useless 95% of the time. Hangs and half loads. Jul 18, 2016  OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 Update. The OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 update improves the stability, compatibility and security of your Mac, and is recommended for all El Capitan users. Mar 31, 2020  So, I downloaded the El Capitan installer from the App Store and reinstalled. And, now, Safari works again, but it's still at version 9.10.2 and the App Store still thinks that it updated Safari to 11.1.2. So, at least I now have a working version of Safari, but it would be nice to be able to update it to the latest version.
