Been struggling with building from pyenv all day so figured I'd contribute the method for doing it in 2020: brew install rbenv/tap/openssl@1.0 PYTHONBUILDHOMEBREWOPENSSLFORMULA=openssl@1.0 pyenv install 3.6.2. Step 1: Download the Python 3 Installer. Open a browser window and navigate to the Download page for Windows at python.org. Underneath the heading at the top that says Python Releases for Windows, click on the link for the Latest Python 3 Release - Python 3.x.x. (As of this writing, the latest is Python 3.6.5.). The bundled pip included with the Python 3.6 installer has its own default certificate store for verifying download connections. Two Solutions. There are two solutions as mentioned: Install the certifi package. Run the download script provided with the installer – /Applications/Python 3.6/Install Certificates.command. The old socket.ssl support for TLS over sockets is being superseded in Python 2.6 by a new ‘ssl’ module. This package brings that module to older Python releases, 2.3.5 and up (it may also work on older versions of 2.3, but we haven’t tried it). There are now newer security-fix releases of Python 3.6 that supersede 3.6.0 and Python 3.8 is now the latest feature release of Python 3.Get the latest releases of 3.6.x and 3.8.x here.Python 3.6.8 is planned to be the last bugfix release for 3.6.x. Following the release of 3.6.8, we plan to provide security fixes for Python 3.6 as needed through 2021, five years following its initial.

Installation
If you recieve errors such as No module named win32com.client, No module named win32, or No module named win32api, you will need to additionally install pypiwin32.
